January 13th, 2018 NBA Betting Tips

A rough 0-3 night last night.

We loved the Wizards -10 against the Magic and while they won easily, it wasn’t easy enough based on that monster line. The Wizards scored 31 or more in the first three quarters, but only managed 27 in the fourth. Those four less points ended up costing us.

The Hawks -2.5 looked good at home against the Nets, but sometimes the better team is just the better team. The Hawks aren’t great.

The same can be said about the Suns +7.5 pick against the Rockets. We expected them to hang with them and score some big points, but that just didn’t happen. The Rockets defense, sorry we underrated you.

Let’s forget yesterday and move on to today.

Golden State Warriors vs. Toronto Raptors Betting Tips:

The Warriors have not been shy about resting players this year and tonight should be one where they do so. Why? Because they are in schedule hell right now. They are on their third game in four nights and the second half of a back-to-back. The first game was in Oakland, then last night in Milwaukee and tonight in Toronto. That’s four different time zones. They probably got in pretty late last night and will start this game less than 24 hours after getting to the hotel in Toronto. This is a rough one. On top of all that, Steph Curry is still listed as questionable.

Toronto has a one day rest advantage and will be at home for this one. They have one of the best home records in the NBA and are probably excited to see how they fare against the Warriors tonight. They’ve made big changes to their offense with the Finals in mind so this will be a good test for them.

It’s hard not to like the Raptors +4 getting points at home against a tired Warriors team. They may be without Kyle Lowry, but as we saw against the Cavs earlier this week that isn’t as big of a problem for them as you might think.

Denver Nuggets vs. San Antonio Spurs Betting Tips:

The rest will strike again tonight as the Nuggets head into this one with a really rough schedule as of late. This is the fifth in eight days, third in four days and the second game of a back-to-back. Oh, and they play the Spurs who are one of the toughest teams in the NBA. Good luck.

The Spurs are 14-5 against the spread at home this year with an 18-2 record straight up. While the Nuggets are just 7-15 on the road (8-12 against the spread). The Spurs would look good here without the big rest advantage and with it they look amazing. Throw in the fact that this team got pasted by the Lakers of all teams in their last game out and we fully expect them to come out swinging at home tonight.

The Spurs -7.5 is a little high, but the factors going into this game point to the Spurs rolling over the Nuggets. The rest is rough, the home court advantage is rougher ad the Spurs should be highly motivated.
