A 2-0 record last night.

It was a very nice night for us as both of our tips came in rather easily.

We took the Raptors +10.5 last night against the Lakers and not only did they cover that, they won the game outright with a final score of 113-04. I said in the write-up that more Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam would not be a bad thing for this team and that’s exactly what we got. Siakam scored 24 points with 11 rebounds in 42 minutes while VanVleet played 39 minutes and finished with 23 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds. This team is built to sustain injuries like that.

Our other tip was the over on Brooklyn versus Phoenix. The Suns dropped 37 in the first quarter here and never looked back. They scored 138 here which made it pretty easy to hit the over. 138-112 was the final score, a good 16.5 points over the total. Ricky Rubio had 22 points and 12 assists here. Devin Booker led the way with 27 points.

A nice end to last week. Let’s start off this week strong.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Boston Celtics Betting Tips:

The Celtics have won seven straight games and tonight they face the Mavericks at home. Last year, the Mavericks were one of the worst straight-up teams on the road in the NBA. They’ve looked good on the road thus far this season, but that is because they have had a very reasonable early schedule with wins at Memphis, Cleveland, and New Orleans. Boston is a little different than those places.

Boston has been top-5 in both Offensive Rating and Defensive Rating while the Mavs have been all offense. This should be a fun match-up in terms of scoring, but I’m looking for a Celtics win here. They are really locked in early this season and I can see them adding to that win total tonight. The Mavs have talent, but they can’t match the big four of Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, and Jaylen Brown. This should be a tough night for the Mavs.

UPDATE: I somehow missed the story that Gordon Hayward broke his hand on Saturday and won’t be playing here. This reminds me of the Raptors a bit yesterday as they will really pick it up in his absence. The Celtics are a pretty deep team and I am sticking with the play tonight.

Bet Celtics -3.5

Utah Jazz vs. Golden State Warriors Betting Tips:

I’ve mostly stayed away from the Warriors this season since the Stephen Curry injury and everything else that has happened to them, but this one is just too good to pass up.

The Warriors are without Curry and Draymond Green, and they have D’Angelo Russell listed as questionable here. That makes for a very young team without any elite defenders. Tonight, they face the most elite defensive team in the league. They’ve been able to pour in the points thanks to their fast pace, but this is their first game against a real defense and I don’t see it going well for them.

The Jazz are well rested here and are coming off big wins against the 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks. Those are two of the best teams in the league so them being able to hold them under 104 points is huge. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Warriors scored under 80 tonight. The Jazz can do that to them.

Bet Jazz -10

A 1-1 record last night.

The Pelicans finally got their second win of the season last night and it was also a win for us. They were playing at Charlotte and had a huge fourth quarter, 34-24, to pull out the 115-110 win. The team got J.J. Redick back for this one which was absolutely huge for the offense. Redick poured in 22 points here and the team was led by Brandon Ingram with 25 points.

We also had the over in the Bulls and Rockets game. This one was out of reach early if you can imagine that and we probably should’ve just went Rockets here. Their defense was due for a great game and they got it here. As predicted, James Harden had a monster game with 42 points, 9 assists, and 10 rebounds. The Rockets won 117-94 which was a long ways off from the 233 total.

A pretty even weekend so far with our tips. Let’s finish it off strong with some wins today.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Phoenix Suns Betting Tips:

The Suns have been one of the feel good stories of the early season as they have played exceptionally. Bringing in Ricky Rubio was a great move this offseason as he’s the type of player that just makes everything work better. His shooting isn’t going to win you any championships, but he’s so good at every other part of the game that teams are just better when he is on the floor. The same can be said to a lesser extent of Aron Baynes, who does all the little things to make an offense work. Combine guys like that with stars like Devin Booker and you’re onto something.

The Brooklyn Nets did things the opposite way. They had a team full of solid role players and then added Kyrie Irving to the mix this season. The results have been mixed for them thus far as the offense has really poured it in, but the defense is allowing it at nearly the same rate.

Both of these teams will play fast and score big points. The Nets are scoring 120 per game while the Suns are at 114 per game. This total is even set a bit low when I think about what these offenses are capable of doing. 240 total points is not out of reach, bet the over.

Bet Brooklyn/Phoenix Over 233.5

Toronto Raptors vs. Los Angeles Lakers Betting Tips:

The Raptors got a huge loss as Kyle Lowry is going to be out for awhile and Serge Ibaka is also out indefinitely. Thanks to those two injuries, the Raptors are a huge underdog in this one at +10.5.

I just don’t see it though. The Raptors were built on depth and despite the loss, they still have their best player in Pascal Siakam and a bigger load for Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, Marc Gasol, and Norman Powell is not a bad thing.

Plus, you have the whole thing where a team loses a player and really rallies together to play hard. We see that time and time again. It’s only after the depth issues come into play that teams struggle with an injury like this.

Yes, LeBron James and Anthony Davis are scary and they are the two best players in this game, but I think the Raptors can put up a fight tonight. Ten points is a lot in this league.

A 1-1 record last night.

We took the Bucks -3 on the road against the Jazz and they were down huge at the half with a score of 35-55. Like so many NBA games this season, that wasn’t a deterrent at all and this game was tied 100-100 with just seconds to play. With just 1.3 seconds left in the game, the Jazz got the ball to Bojan Bogdanovic who hit a three-pointer as time expired. Tough loss.

We did get the win with the Pistons +7.5 against the Pacers. This game ended up being a bit higher scoring than I was expecting, but it was close enough to get us the victory with a final score of 112-106. This was a true all hands on-deck game for both teams as the Pacers had seven players in double figures while the Pistons had six players in double figures. Luke Kennard led all scorers with 29 points.

A big Saturday slate so let’s get into the tips.

New Orleans Pelicans at Charlotte Hornets

: The Pelicans are just 1-7 on the season, but this team is not that bad. They have had maybe the toughest schedule of any team in this young season with a seven of their eight games coming against teams that made the playoffs last season.

The loss of Zion Williams for New Orleans early in the season stinks, but they still are a loaded team. Tonight they get the added bonus in that they should be getting Lonzo Ball and JJ Reddick back from injury tonight. Reddick especially will be a big help as there are few players that can spread the floor quite like him.

The Hornets? Nah. I think they really play to their opponents and they won’t be able to keep up offensively with the Pelicans here. New Orleans absolutely needs this win.

Bet Pelicans -1.5

Houston Rockets vs. Chicago Bulls Betting Tips:

The Rockets will be without Russell Westbrook tonight which will fully make this game the James Harden show. That has never really hurt them before as there are few players that can control the scoring for their team quite like James Harden. I can see a monster game from him here tonight.

The Bulls are the kind of team that really plays to their opponents style of game. We know the Rockets style of game and they can bend anyone to that style. They play fast and they shoot a lot of threes. On the season they are scoring over 120 points per game. They are also allowing over 120 points per game. The Bulls players like Zach LaVine will be happy to partake in that.

Something has got to give on the defensive end for the Rockets, but I am not sure that is going to happen tonight. I think tonight we get the same old James Harden show and another 120+ points performance from this team. I think tonight, we get the same old defensive woes that we’ve seen early in the season. I think tonight, we get the over.

An 0-1 last night. Or 2-1 depending on how you look at it.

The Clippers beat the Trail Blazers last night 107-101. Kawhi Leonard finished with 27 points which is just under what Graeme tipped on the site here. That was the loss. I posted on SportsBettingTips.Org and Graeme posted at the bottom of his post that the Clippers were a great play last night at -5.5. It was close, but they managed to cover it.

Over at SBT, I also took the Celtics -7 at the Hornets. This one was not even remotely close as the Celtics won big, 108-87. It was all about the front court here as Gordon Hayward finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Jayson Tatum had 23 points and 9 rebounds. The Hornets aren’t good.

A full slate on a Friday night tonight, let’s keep the good times rolling.

Detroit Pistons vs. Indiana Pacers Betting Tips:

I hate even tipping this game because I would hate for anyone to watch this and sweat the outcome. This is going to be a game with scores in the 90s and not a lot of offense to be seen. No Blake Griffin, no Victor Oladipo, no Reggie Jackson, no Derrick Rose, and Myles Turner is questionable. Star power, this game does not have.

Which is why this line is so weird to me. The Pacers are favored by seven points. I don’t think they are going to score enough points on either end for a team to cover a seven point spread. These two teams played twice this year, an over on opening night (not counting it because of the nature of opening night) and another game with similar injury issues where the final was 96-94.

I can see another score like that one here with limited offensive weapons and, to me, a low scoring game will be a close game. The Pistons and the points are the play.

Bet Pistons +7.5

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Utah Jazz Betting Tips:

The Jazz are predictably one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, but their offense is worse than usual. They added Mike Conley to the backcourt with Donovan Mitchell, but that has yet to lead to improved offense. They currently rank 26th in Offensive Rating.

On most nights they can overcome that with their defense, but tonight I’m not so sure. The Bucks are once again a top defensive team and lead the NBA in Net Rating. Giannis Antetokounmpo is already looking like a repeat pick for MVP and this team is just going to score tonight.

Can the Jazz keep up with that? You’d like to see it going forward, but I am not sure it’s going to happen tonight. The offense has struggled and the Bucks defense is good.

The Bucks love shooting the three and if they are going to take that away, Giannis is right there. The Jazz last game out was against the Sixers, a similar talent level to Milwaukee, and they only won by 2. While the Bucks have won four straight with wins over the Wolves, Clippers and Raptors. Ride the hot hand.

Bet Bucks -3

A 2-0 night last night.

A very nice night of betting last night to finish off a profitable weekend.

We took the Kings over the Knicks last night and this one was over before it started. The Kings got out to a 32-23 in the first quarter and extended it to 61-41 by the half and they never looked back. De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield combined for 46 points and the Kings rolled. Their early season woes may have had more to do with the India trip than anything.

We also took the Mavericks and Cavaliers to go over the total and boy did they. The total on this one was set at 215 and the final score saw the Mavs win 131-111. We knew the Mavs would push the pace and that’s exactly what they did. Luka Doncic put up on the best stat lines of the season with 29 points, 14 rebounds and 15 assists in just 34 minutes. That guy is something special.

We start a new week tonight, let’s keep the success from the weekend going.

Houston Rockets vs. Memphis Grizzlies Betting Tips:

The Rockets can’t be too happy with their 3-2 start. Their loss against the Bucks saw them blow a huge lead late and they also recently lost on the road to the Nets in a winnable match-up. This team could easily be undefeated right now, but here they sit.

Houston should be well-rested here as this is their first game in three days. The James Harden and Russell Westbrook experiment will have some growing pains, but tonight’s match-up should be a great chance to try some things and really air it all out. They face a Grizzlies team that has been getting outscored by 13 per game and is expected to be one of the worst teams in the league this season.

The fact that this game is not in the double digits for a betting line surprises me, but I am all over it as I expect the Rockets to absolutely dominate this one. They should win by 10+.

Bet Rockets -6.5

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Betting Tips:

I hate to go two games with road teams laying big points, but it’s just too hard to resist here. The Bucks really got back on track in their last couple of game against the Magic and the Raptors. I expect them to bring that energy into Minnesota. The Wolves will be playing without Karl-Anthony Towns who is still suspended and that should allow Giannis Antetokounmpo to run wild in this one.

It’s a small sample, but the Wolves have allowed teams to shoot 39.6% from three on the season. The Bucks love shooting the three more than almost any team in this league and they will be letting it fly here. If the Wolves can’t defend that, it could get ugly and without Towns they will struggle to keep up on the offensive end.

The Wolves are coming off a nice win without Towns against Washington, but that’s the Wizards. This is the team that finished with the best record in the East last year. That’s a big difference and I am expecting a Bucks cover here.

An 0-1-1 record last night.

We had the Nuggets -4 last night and they won by 4. They really showed out in the second and third quarters as they held the Magic to just 37 points combined, but in the fourth they were outscored 24-22 which ended up making this one a push.

Sadly, we were also on the wrong side of the biggest comeback of the night. The Blazers led by as much as 21 in their home game against the Sixers last night. Fourth quarters have not been kind to us this season and this one was no different with a 37-26 finish.

The Sixers were without Joel Embiid, but they still managed to stay undefeated here. Ben Simmons had a nice game with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists, but he was actually a negative in +/-. The Sixers did their best work with James Ennis III running the point who had 7 points and 7 rebounds with a +13 point differential.

A typical NBA Sunday today with some earlier than usual starts. There is one game that I see a team that is beyond ready to get things sorted out. With another game that I am looking more towards the total. Let’s get into it.

Sacramento Kings vs. New York Knicks Betting Tips:

The Sacramento Kings have had a really rough start to the year as they’ve started 1-5. This team has some real talent in De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, and Bogdan Bogdanovic. Many people expected them to improve on last year’s record with new coach Luke Walton.

Well, it’s been an adjustment. The new coach has cost them early while a preseason trip to India didn’t help either. We wrote about early in the season how the China trip might impact some teams and grabbed some easy wins off of that. Well, it was the same for the Kings.

Sacramento got their first win of the season over the Jazz and are now looking to keep that going against the Knicks tonight. New York is also 1-5 with a very tough schedule to start the season as five of their first six have been against 2018-2019 playoff teams, all losses.

The difference here is the talent and I think the Kings have much more. They beat a very tough Jazz team and are now looking to come in here and get their first dominating win. I think they can do it.

Bet Kings -1.5

Dallas Mavericks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Tips:

The Cavs at 2-2 have been one of the surprises of the young season. Kevin Love has looked like Kevin Love again and you love to see it. His front court mate Tristan Thompson has played his basketball of his life to start the year as well and the two are combining for 28.2 rebounds per game. The team has also gotten some nice improvements from second-year player Collin Sexton. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them steal the eighth seed in the East if they keep this up.

They play the Mavericks today who have put up big points all season long. Their lowest scoring output on the year is 108 and their lowest points allowed on the season is 100. They don’t play low scoring games and they keep a high pace.

Luka Dončić and Kristaps Porziņģis have been a great combination to start the year with a combined 47 points and 17.6 rebounds per game. They should make the Cavs work today.

I like this game as an over. Cleveland’s season stats are showing a lower number, but that’s because they’ve played Orlando and then Indiana twice. Those are the most slow it down teams in the league right now. The Mavericks are anything but that. This line is set a bit lower than what I expect it to be as 220 total feels very doable here.

A very nice 2-0 last night.

I love it when a plan comes together. We took the Bucks on the road laying -4.5 because we expected them to right the ship in a lot of ways. They were facing a team that doesn’t shoot the three well while they love shooting the three. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 29 points and 14 rebounds while Eric Bledsoe added 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. The Bucks won by 32.

The other pick we took was the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets under 244.5 points. Both teams had really had some big scoring nights of late and we were expecting the coaching staff to drill them on defense. I’m not sure that totally happened as this one ended closer than I imagined, but it did safely go under. Kyrie Irving shared the ball a lot more than I imagined he might as he finished with 10 assists and the team was led by Taurean Prince with 27 points.

We’re back at it today looking for teams who need to make some adjustments. Let’s find them, let’s exploit them, and let’s win some money.

Get the NBA Tips delivered to your inbox each day for free.

Denver Nuggets vs. Orlando Magic Betting Tips:

The Magic are playing back-to-back here, but the thing I am really looking for is a big effort from the Nuggets. Why? Their coach said this to reporters after their last game.

“We’re a great talk team. We can talk before the season starts about all the things we want to accomplish, and we want to be a contending team. It’s all (expletive). Don’t tell me about it, show me. And right now we’ve got a lot of guys that aren’t showing me much.”

That is the textbook definition of being called out and I’m expecting a big game from the Nuggets here. The defensive effort was called embarrassing and they should really lock down tonight. It helps that the Magic are one of the weaker offensive teams in the league right now so they should be able to.

Bet Nuggets -4

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Portland Trail Blazers Betting Tips:

This game is the fallout for the Joel Embiid/Karl-Anthony Towns fight. Embiid will be suspended for this one as the Sixers head to Portland to play the Blazers.

The Blazer are always a great home team with a really strong crowd. They are 65-28 straight up at home over the past three seasons and 50-38 against the spread. This might’ve been one of the games where you avoid them at home, but without Embiid this is a much different match-up.

The Blazers now have the big man advantage with Hassan Whiteside while I love the scoring of C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard over Ben Simmons and Tobias Harris. The Blazers backcourt duo has done a fantastic job of sharing the scoring load early this season and I am expecting another 55+ combined from them here.

Portland also comes into this one well rested as they haven’t played since the 30th. Neither have the Sixers, but they still had to travel for this one while the Blazers have been sleeping in their own beds.

Bet Blazers -2
