April 30th, 2019 NBA Betting Tips

Graeme & VinWritten by Graeme & Vin

A winning night last night with our unanimous pick of the 76ers +6.5. Philly didn’t just cover the spread but won outright 94-89. They had a big first quarter and Raptors couldn’t claw their way back into the game. They came close in the 4th but couldn’t do it with Danny Green missing that key three pointer to tie up the game.

The Denver Nuggets won game 1 121-113.

For Tuesday, April 30th we’ve got two Game 2s. The Milwaukee Bucks were upset by the Celtics in Game 1 and will look to turn it around here. The Warriors beat the Rockets in Game 1 and hope to keep going.

Bucks vs Celtics Game 2 Betting Tips:

Vin: The Bucks really didn’t show up strong in game one. Throw on top of that an absolute master class in defense by the Celtics and it was a rough night in Milwaukee. This series was never going to be easy for these teams and I had a feeling that the Celtics might steal one of these first two games. I just didn’t really expect it to be game one.

Perhaps I should’ve though. That first round match-up with Detroit was almost too easy, the team got too comfortable doing whatever they wanted. I don’t think they need to make a ton of adjustments in game two to even the series, I just think they have to play with more urgency. Put Giannis Antetokounmpo on the move so Al Horford can’t shut him down as easily. There were a lot of open shots by Boston that were just defensive lapses, shut those down.

This team needs to win this game and I fully believe they will. The home crowd will be rocking and now the Bucks know what they are in for. Let’s even this series and get it to Boston.

Bucks -7.5

Graeme: I find one thing with NBA betting is that it’s so much easier in retrospect. Not that it wouldn’t be of course – but there are always things you miss that you look back on and think “damn, that was obvious”. Not just NBA Betting of course. NHL is the same.

As Vin said – the Bucks got comfortable. I didn’t bet that game at all but I probably should have taken the Celtics knowing Bucks would get complacent.

I think we’ve seen that enough in NBA in years past – the Warriors for example – and we know how it ends. With a big blowout victory are being woken up.

Bucks -7.5

Rockets vs Warriors Game 2 Betting Tips:

Vin: The Rockets and Warriors played a tight game one that was tarnished by talks of missed calls and what is or isn’t a foul. It’s a silly argument. James Harden is a master at drawing contact and perhaps making the refs think something is a foul when it isn’t. They probably saw some video before the series to see his moves and they didn’t call those fouls because they were never fouls to begin with, but he’s so used to getting them that him and the team is mad. It’s very frustrating.

What stuck out to me about that game though was the lack of shots, the slower pace and the lack of scoring. These two teams combined for just 204 points which is insane when you remember they were the top two teams in Offensive Rating during the regular season. I don’t think that was a blip. Three of the four games they played this season went under the posted total and two of those games were under 210.

This is a stylistic choice these teams are making and I think it continues tonight.

Bet Warriors/Rockets Under 220.5

Graeme: I think we see a much better performance from the Rockets tonight. Warriors have flexed their muscle but they get complacent. Doesn’t matter the situation or who it is.

Rockets only lost by four points while having that awful 3 point shooting.

I actually think the over comes in here as the refs will let the teams play.

But I’ll go with the Rockets who I think win or keep ti close.

Rockets +5.5
